From August 22th onwards, a new exhibit will be featured at the Street Gallery's exhibition wall in Fabrika, highlighting artworks by Gabriel Suchowolski, also known as Microbians.
Gabriel Suchowolski is a Co-Founder of Domestika and a Senior Art Director specializing in design, motion graphics, and illustration. Projects usually involve a mix of programming, animation, and design, focusing on illustration. His artwork has been featured in design publications like IdN, IndexBook, and Taschen, earning him awards such as a LAUS for a TV identity for La Sexta. Microbians art has also been displayed at Foundation, KnownOrigin, OpenSea, objkt, and Nifty Gateway, with all 150+ pieces selling out last year. In 2023, he was included as an artist at SuperRare, and his work has attracted collectors like Pak, Mondoir, JaredSturman, and CyberDAO.
Gabriel is passionate about illustration, especially the works of French masters like Moebius and Enki Bilal and Japanese manga artists such as Urasawa, Otomo, Miyazaki, and Morimoto. He often creates illustrations with cyber-punk retro-futuristic themes, using expressive lines, typography, and contrasting colors to achieve a concise and cohesive design. His characters and portraits typically incorporate sci-fi elements, such as those found in the REDsistance universe.
Microbians presents a post-apocalyptic world where the characters' expressive demeanor transports the viewer. Using symbols, he creates a history that unfolds work by work, detailing the relationships and actions of humanoids, clans, gangs, and droids in the universe of REDsistance.
REDsistance is a distant planet where people have fled from an authoritarian government on Earth. Over time, the planet's atmosphere causes them to mutate, gaining mystical powers and becoming increasingly competitive for domination and power. As a result, tribes and gangs emerge throughout the planet, forming the universe that Microbians represents in his art.
