From October 25th, the exhibition walls of the Street Gallery at EZO will showcase the works of the Georgian Artist Mariam Kacharava.
The project is inspired by her fascination with symmetry as she believes that we live in a mirrored world where we can already see the full picture of life. The mirror captures and remembers everything, and the angles from which we look at it change. Every action we take has an opposite - a mirror-symmetrical action, which is the main key to our animal instincts. There are three artboards in this project.
The first, titled "Frog's Birthday," represents the transformation of a frog into a butterfly to live a light life, even if just for one day. It shows how one can leave the demons in the world of ideas yet unborn and silence the angels.
The second, titled "Angry Ones - Smell," is an abstraction that conveys the patterns and shapes of beings in the world. It illustrates how these patterns and shapes create one complete gender product that, in turn, creates a smell based on wild, primal instincts - a form of processed art.
The third, titled "Angry Ones - Hierarchy," represents the symmetrical hierarchy paradox. It shows how gods, insects, idols, colors, and other entities are in constant war.
About Artist
Mariam Kacharava is a graphic designer and collage artist who has been passionate about drawing since her childhood. Over time, she discovered that she had the ability to deconstruct the visuals she saw with her eyes. In 2017, she enrolled in the Tbilisi State Art Academy's Faculty of Graphic Design and today, she works in the advertising industry. Mariam has participated in international exhibitions of modern art in Spain and Germany and was recognized as one of the winners of Forbes Georgia 30 under 30 in the field of arts and culture.
Her work revolves around intimate topics such as human philosophy, eroticism, mentality, and fears. By studying the political origins of Collage, Mariam has learned how to convey messages more effectively. The aesthetics that come with collage art have become the starting point for her future projects, especially in music projects, festivals, and album artwork. Her deconstructive thinking and vision allow her to not only feel the materials but also better understand and visualize music.
