Dante (DAVID MCHEDLISHVILI) is a Georgian artist born in 1987. He enrolled in Tbilisi Academy of Arts in 2004, working towards a degree in interior design. From that time he actively started to work on murals. Dante’s original source of inspiration was fauna. Drawing animals from book illustrations at first, he soon became a frequent guest of Tbilisi Zoo. In his drawings, he tackles environmental problems, mostly focusing on endangered species worldwide, making us think about our actions. Dante is a gold winner of Young Lions Georgia in 2017. His first personal exhibition “All that Jazz” was opened during the Tbilisi Jazz Festival in 2014.
